Debbie Cook discovered her love for scuba diving while traveling to beautiful islands like Cozumel, ABC islands, Virgin Islands and beyond.
Throughout her lifetime, Debbie Cook has had many wonderful opportunities to travel the globe on vacation with friends and family. In the late 90s, she visited Greece for three weeks, traveling to Delphi and admiring sites like the world’s oldest paved highway in Crete.
She has loved traveling the globe to visit different historical sites, admire incredible scenery, understand different cultures, and simply seek adventure. While Greece and other areas have been fun to explore, Debbie Cook has found scuba diving to be like exploring a whole different world.
During the late 80s, Debbie had a few life changing experiences while diving in Cozumel, The U.S. and British Virgin Islands, as well as the ABC Islands, Aruba, Curaçao, and Bonaire.
Debbie Cook remembers her first experience scuba diving so vividly. There are so many different colors, textures, and marine life you are able to discover something new at every turn. Even when diving in the same area on multiple occasions you are still likely to see a completely new scene each time. Each new dive is an adventure filled with mystery, excitement, and awe.
Some of her favorite things she has seen while scuba diving include:
- Schools of fish
- Huge lobster
- Sea Turtles
- Coral reefs
- Seahorses
The ocean is so massive and filled with things that have yet to be discovered. This is part of what led her to be so passionate about diving and the ocean in general. Like with dancing and performing at horse shows, Debbie Cook feels a natural connection with the water. For anyone who may be nervous or hesitant to try diving, she highly recommends giving it a shot. Like traveling in general, scuba diving and exploring the depths of the ocean help you develop new perspectives and see things many others have never seen before.
